I had been awaiting a reply about the source of Colin Dryden's version of "The Ballad of Reading Gaol" from his old Sydney mate, Derrick Chetwyn, but after two emails for him, via Mary, I think maybe it's not gonna happen.....

The terrier Virgo in me hates to give up, but yes, Colan, in the absence of anyone coming forward about America's Chris Couveau, we'll just have to presume that Colin helped to "evolve" Bayard's melody somewhere along the line!!
