I have an antique pocket telescope made of brass with a leather covering. Unfortunately I do not live in the UK but in Ireland (The Republic). The little telescope was given me by my Grandfather when I was quite young and not cared for as it should have been. I do not know where he procured itand , perhaps it was given him by his eldest son who fought with a Cavalry Regiment in France in WW1 and survived. He was, I believe, with a scouting unit who were detailed to watch for enemy movement close to a Field HQs.
I would dearly love to have the telescope put back in working order but, other than having it done by the Repair Shop crew I do not know where it could be repaired and , I imagine that would be costly ?
