My earliest two memories of "Biff" are these:

the salesman protagonist has an adult son known as Biff.


Initiate in the Dark Cycle,
a roman à clef by Cyril Meir Scott,
has a character who says that an unexpected turn of events is
"a biff in the solar plexus."
