Thread Name: Lyr Req: O Thug 'ad Bhuam Thu
Subject: Lyr Req: O Thug 'ad Bhuam Thu
O Thug 'ad Bhuam Thu (Oh They've taken You From Me)
Is on the Margaret Stewart album Togaidh Mi Mo Sheòlta :Along The Road Less Travelled) 2008

I only have the first verse.
Does anyone have the remaining verses.

Seist:
Ò thug 'ad bhuam thu
È thug 'ad bhuam thu,
Chaoidh cha toir mi fuath dhut
Ged 's suarach leat mì.

Nuair bha mi aotrom gòrach 's mo chridhe leum le sòlas
Gun tug mi gaol don òigear as bòidhche san tìr.

Chorus:
O, they took you from me
E, they took you from me,
I will never turn against you
Though you care little for me.

When I was young and flighty with my heart full of mirth
I gave my love to the young man, the most handsome in the land.

This is a traditional song but I do not have any source of the origin of this song - authorship or date.
Any info would be welcome.

The song is of unrequited love. A young woman mourns the fact that her sweetheart has been taken away from her.
