Have just re-checked the DVD, JT sings 'Lover draw near' which makes metric sense, and certainly more normal sense than 'Nigger', which I have never heard.

That said, the only singer I know sang the song always sang 'Nipper' (as in small child) AFAI can recall; still doesn't really make sense, but as close as seems likely. Certainly more probable than JT singing 'nigger' which I doubt, even 20+ years ago.
