Hi, all. The short vigil this afternoon went quite well. It's cold out here in Kansas, so my hands were blue and numb by the end of three verses. Still, everyone picked up beautifully on the chorus of "Hard Times" and the whole thing was very meaningful, I think. I had a very hard time making it through the whole song without choking up, especially having to sing it after listening to the school bell rung 166 times (once for each civilian that dies everyday as a result of the economic sanctions) and looking at pictures of Iraqi children who are suffering, unable to obtain basic medical equipment to treat simple ailments such as diarrhea...and all because of my country's policies.
