When I was a child, the words "I'm king of the castle. Get out you dirty rascal" were sung, or chanted, to the tune of "Nya nya na nya nya, na nyana nyana nya nya", by whoever had occupied a disputed area, or just "Nya nya na nya nya" by whoever had got hold of an object (a ball, a shoe, a school bag ...) that was being fought over.

I had never before made a connection with the tune of "Sumer is icumen in", but it makes sense - meaning "We have got the better of winter. We have won. We have survived."
