In non-plague times when the annual Australian National Folk Festival is thriving, I facilitate a forum for community radio presenters, offering the opportunity for festival performers to spend time with radio presenters and to promote their material directly to people who might actually play it on air.

John Thompson, Nicole Murray and Emma Nixon were always willing participants as a group (Cloudstreet) or in their various duo incarnations, to chat about their music.

There are many Australian folk radio presenters who appreciated their direct contact with John. He was a good man with a very fine voice and the ability to engage with an audience.
