"Somewhere" I've got a recording of a Dutch version of this- mijn emmer is kapot. The protagonists are Lieverd Dorkus (the man) and Stomme Lese. I don't speak enough Dutch to know whether one solution offered by Lese was a little boy's finger in the hole.
