Interesting thread rises up again. A very talented generation. What role - if any - did the Canadian culture play in supporting their talent? Has that culture changed?

I've seen both Lightfoot and Cohen on tour in England. I've also seen Lightfoot on his World Tour of London, Paris and Berlin - all towns in Ontario. And my Uncle Pete in Chatham, Ontario, went to a bar every Friday night with Mr Fricker. He was Ian Tyson's father-in-law, and not his greatest fan.
