Subject: RE: BS: How to be a better person
Eliza has a good point and underlines one of the things I was trying to say. What is better? If we step in to help someone, it could be perceived as interfering but it we don't it may be indifference. Criticising someone for abusing another can be seen as supporting one or bullying the other. Arguing your case strongly is either being principled or pig-headed.

I think at the end of the day only the person performing the action is fully aware of their intentions so anyone perceiving a different agenda is likely to be wrong. I tend towards trusting people at face value. Unless they prove themselves otherwise I think that people, in the main, are good and well intentioned. There are of course those I would not believe if they told me water was wet but very few of those move in the circles I frequent. I'm glad to say!
