I have just been reading about Raimbaut in Margaret Wade Labarge's book "Medieval Travellers". Seems that he dedicated a lot of his work to a man in much the same way as troubadours usually worshipped women. Not at all clear what any of those dedications really mean, but his tabard could have swung both ways.
