I was in my kitchen. First I heard the house creaking before I felt anything. It was a gentle rolling, and nothing fell over in the house. But I was "shook up" (pun intended). I had a queezy feeling in my stomach and that very alert sense when danger is present. I think the scariest thing is just plain not knowing if it is going to get worse. If I had known it would be as "gentle" as it was, I wouln't have been afraid.

Last year my husband added earthquake insurance to our homeowner's policy. Not a bad idea. But I think they have a moratorium on adding it for a certain period of time following an earthquake....
