Growing up in the PA NY bible belt I fought against both kinds of confirmation bias but I could not fight against not being taught the truth about native Indian genocide in the first place.
We did'nt have a Civil War either. We had the war between the States or the war of northern aggression.
Southern textbooks were dirt cheap.
