Plenty of room to adjust the presnt design to allow for a few additional states.And you'd need sharp eyes to any difference from the present ones.

I'd think that in a country where the role of government is to oblige capitalist enterprises the fact that an extra state or would mean millions of flags needing to be replaced would be likely to make it more likely that that would happen. After all most of those flags would be privately owned.

It'd be fun if they put in a few more colours. After all red white and blue is a combination shared by any number of countries - the UK, France, Russia, Cuba, just for a start. Perhaps go for rainbow stripes...
