At last there are lyrics for the song that make sense. It always bothered me that one minute the guy was worried about alligators and the next asking the young lady to marry him. AFAIC, Paul Brady, a brilliant and clean guitar player as well as a tremendous vocalist did such a clipped rendition of the song.
