Thread Name: 2021 Obit: fiddler/luthier Geordie McAdam
Subject: Obit: Geordie McAdam
Geordie McAdam, a fiddle player and craftsman/instrument maker; long time resident of Bangor, County Down Northern Ireland, died at the end of February this year.

I first encountered the versatile fiddler Geordie McAdam, a real character when I participated in a gathering of Mudcatters in Portaferry in 2003. He wasn't part of the gathering, but most of us who were would have heard Geordie playing at a pub session along with Diana and Nigel Boullier. The last time I saw Geordie was at the bluegrass and old-timey fest at the Ulster American Folk Park in the autumn of 2019.
