ONLY FOR THREE MONTHS
Today,23rd May, is the anniversary of the landing, in 1937, of refugee children from S.S. Habana at Southampton. These children were sent for safety to Britain from war-torn Spain following the bombing of Guernika during the Spanish Civil War. “Only for Three Months “ is a song performed by Na-Mara which tells the story. Rob Garcia of Na mara is the son of Fausto Garcia, who was evacuated as a child from Bilbao in 1937 and given asylum in Britain.
