Thread Name: Lyr Req: Bean an Leanna
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Bean an Leanna
the lyrics in the "Songs in Irish" webpage are from a book, Leabhar Mór na nAmhrán, and are those recorded by Pádraig Ó Maolruadh, so should be the same as those posted on this discussion by Brian in 2001.
The Heaney lyrics and translation are also shared at https://mudcat.org/thread.cfm?threadid=124864 as I mentioned here yesterday. Although the order of the lines is somewhat different, the versions are similar enought that the translation of Heaney's version gives you a good enough idea of what Ó maolruadh's version of Bean an Leanna is about.

and here is a video of a rendition of Bean a' Leanna with translation on screen https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WdhpDZwxZK4 (Pól Ó Ceannabháin)

Joe Heaney sang the song a bit more slowly. You can find recordings on youtube and there is a sound recording at https://www.joeheaney.org/en/bean-an-leanna/
