Thread Name: Lyr/Chords ADD: Reuben's Train
Subject: RE: Lyr/Chords Req: Reuben's Train
Grandfather Ledford died in the early 1920s and had not been active for some time. I don't believe Ruben (correct spelling?) or son Waites ever recorded except perhaps some unreleased stuff in the Berea archives.

Otoh, grandsons Steve, Wayne & Taft (The Ledford Brothers) covered more than few versions. Steve played with Mainer's Mountaineers, among others.

I see The Brothers own take hasn't made it to ytube or the archive just yet (Roan Mountain, 7”-EP, RM-1, 1972.)

Steve Ledford plays Don't Go Out Tonight, My Darling
Wayne Ledford playing Train 45 @ 90 yrs
Little Maggie (Mainer, Morris & Ledford)

And Lilly Mae Ledford was cousin to somebody. I'll have to find my notes again. She was in the Coon Creek Girls & also with Wade Mainer at A. Lomax's Whitehouse folk concerts for the Roosevelts pre-WWII.

Fwiw, I do remember noted luthier Homer Ledford was not a relation.
