Hoot - Nope, it's the 'other' Roy. Click on the blue link just below that sentence in my post above. It's the Bear Family website bio for James Faye (Roy) Hall.

Also, both Hall Twins and James Faye Hall served in WWII. If James Faye Hall's first work as a professional musician came after WWII and after Roy Davis Hall's death in 1943; it seems James Faye Hall could not have been playing in anybody's band at the time Roy Davis Hall died.

Methinks, there's going to be a few years between Roy Davis Hall's passing and James Faye Hall taking the name.

Did the Hall Twins ever perform as "The Hall Brothers" besides that mis-labeled Roan Mountain EP?
