I think I had a foggy mountain breakdown there. I have listened again and again, again, and now I hear what apparently everyone else hears on that first verse .

All around the mountain and it was so cold, bow down.
All around the mountain and it was so cold, bow down,
All around the mountain and was so cold,
Couldn't hear nothing but the big wind (?) roar (?) bow down.

And the last verse on the original recording repeats this, except there seems to be a change at the end of the last line. But my hearing may not be up to these finer nuances. Surely there are better ears than mine.

I did kind of like 'Fog on the mountain..."
