This was a novelty song I heard once at least 25 or maybe 30 years ago, in the latter days of the hippies. The chorus went..."I got busted!
They say I'm maladjusted
Now I never can be trusted
By anyone anymore
Yeah, I got busted!
My own mother was disgusted!
I got busted!
BY THE LAW...."that last line "By the law..." was sung way down deep, in a base voice at the very pit of the human vocal range, as used to be done in some old rock 'n roll songs, as a humorous hook.
It was a pretty funny song, but I only heard it the one time, on some radio station. This was in the days of the long-haired boys when virtually everyone smoked a little grass or hash now and then and they were all a bit paranoid about unwanted attention from the police, so the song fit the times. Does anybody out there know it?
