I (34, female) wouldn't have a problem with it, but then I have spent a large part of my life listening to folk music, so my standards might be a bit different to those of people from outside the folk world. I don't perform - if I did, I wouldn't absolutely refuse to perform any trad song, except Little Sir Hugh.
