Subject: Lyr Add: HENRY (New Riders of the Purple Sage)

One of my all-time favorites--

HENRY
As recorded by New Riders of the Purple Sage on "New Riders of the Purple Sage" (1971)

1. Every year along about this time, it all gets dry.
Nothing 'round for love nor money, bearly get you high.
Henry got his truck and said he'd run to Mexico,
See if he could come back holdin' twenty keys of gold.

2. Now the road to Acapulco is very hard indeed,
And it isn't any better if you haven't any weed.
Henry's drivin' hard and straight on twisty mountain roads
Fifty people back waitin' back at home for Henry's load

CHORUS: And now he's rollin' down the mountain going fast, fast, fast,
And if he blows it, this one's gonna be his last.
Went to Acapulco to turn the golden keys.
Henry, keep your brakes on for this corner if you please.

3. Henry got to Mexico and turned his truck around.
He's talkin' with the man who has it growing from the ground.
Henry tasted; he got wasted, couldn't even see.
How he's gonna drive like that is not so clear to me. CHORUS

4. Sunday afternoon, Tijuana is a lovely town.
The bullfight brings the tourists and there's money flowing down.
Border guards are much too busy there at 5 o'clock.
Henry's truckin' right on through; he hardly even stops. CHORUS

That's it from what's left of my memory. Who says pot wrecks your memory.
That album also has the wonderful Glendale Train song.
You might be able to find the song with tabs on OLGA at Harmony Central.com
Enjoy, Tom
