The most recent Trump rump effect is the apparent U.S. abandonment of a secular Afghanistan. After 20 years, this is nothing less than the loss of the U.S.s longest war.

I am not arguing that Trump lost the War. It could be interpreted that Trump recognized that the War was unwinnable or not worth the cost of winning, so he instituted negotiations with the Taliban. Which has been continued under the current Biden administration either because there is a certain momentum to the events, or because they in fact agree that after 100s of billions of dollars and hundreds of American lives and tens of thousands of Afghan lives, the situation is not going to change in direction.

This is politically interesting because I think the Trumpistas will argue that the Democrats lost the war during the coming elections.

And of course the world will take notice of the events as a sign of American further loss of world dominance. Which Trump didn't cause but definitely symbolized.
