We walked a mile + this morning and it was already 80 out there at 7:30am so hitting the house air conditioning after that felt great and I was drenched in sweat. Next I mixed up a batch of "mound drench" mix (liquid humate, orange oil, and molasses if you have it) in a gallon of water to spray on the garden to try to knock out a few of the ticks that seem to be lining up to jump on me when I pick. There are a bunch of okra ready to cut right now so after it has a little time to dry I'll put on the men's dress shirt (kids used to wear their dad's shirt backwards as a painting apron) and I have the lint roller handy and I'll pick then go over my clothes to see if there are any ticks. I ordered a reusable coverall garment to use for when I do more work out there (to take off carefully, lint roll or whatever if there are ticks). Taking care of garden stuff is ok at eighty degrees when you realize it will be over 100 later in the day.

Since there has been a rodent living under my garden then I'm pretty sure it is the source of the ticks.
