We had thunder and a tiny sprinkle, but hopefully tomorrow will offer more precipitation. The weekend is slated to be stormy on and off.

Recycling transported to the village bins (if I do it once a week it's a lot easier to manage) and bathroom cleaning completed - countertops, mirrors, etc. Laundry finished and put away. The den once again looks like a forest floor (it was in perfect shape a week ago for guests to come over) and will get the sweep and vacuum tomorrow. Vacuum dust off of the fireplace and furniture.

I look at the size of the house and the stuff in here; none of it unreasonable or unusual, but the volume is what I'm thinking about now. It has shrunk considerably since I moved in here, I've given away a lot of stuff, but when I consider that people in New York City and other high-density urban areas live in studio apartments the size of my den and kitchen combined, I realize how fortunate I am to be able to spread out the way I have. That doesn't mean I want to keep all of this here for the kids to deal with in the future. I'm not ready to downsize, I like having the yard and the location I have, but the house needs to have the contents thinned more. (I don't have a storage locker, I resolved years ago to keep the contents of the house here, not pay extra to store stuff. Offsite storage facilities are a going concern, more being built all of the time. There is an opportunity for the savvy investor.)
