Oh, I should have also stated that there was inevitably a bit of overlap and transition between some of the "eras" too.

The band certainly had "hits" from the very start although it was when they started to compose their own materil that these really took off.
Also, as early as the late sixties, they started releasing some classic albums such as Beggar's Banquet and Let it Bleed.
