Next Sunday,5th September at 3.00pm, there will be the unveiling of a commemorative plaque at 160 Park Avenue, where Lal Waterson lived 1968-1976. Lal’s family, including Oliver Knight ,Marry Waterson, and Norma Waterson will be there, and if they can get back in time from a gig in Scotland, Eliza and Martin Carthy will also be there. Everyone is welcome. We hope that there will be some singing so bring your chorus voice. The house ,160 Park Avenue, is where Lal wrote some of the songs for “Bright Phoebus” and the incident which prompted Red Wine & Promises occurred at the end of the street near Pearson Park.
