The minority in Congress can steal time and pay a game of delay or shut down. The US is facing another government shut down, it has lately been a waiting game of disaster to see how close to midnight a consensus is reached.
In two weeks the US government may shut down if repubs don't vote to pay the bills that Trump rang up (5 trillion). Its called passing the debt ceiling. It was created in 1917 to placate those opposed to WW1 involvement and the great expense war would cost.
What happens if the US Congress does not pass the debt ceiling in time?    There would be a 15 trillion dollar loss of wealth amoung our citizens by paying more interest and penalties on government borrowed $.   I 'tossed' off a little parody for just such a situation that is looming next Monday .
