Mine was a whirlpool in a lake in Maine. I got out of the canoe and thought the whirlpool might be a wild ride. It was, I went to the bottom where broken bottles were naturally gathered and severed tendons and nerves in my left hand. The challenge of healing and surgury may have helped my playing as far as I know. Common sense was only slightly improved. Even small whirlpools are dangerous. Same with Black Holes.
