All of that ceremony and after-event activity sounds magnificent, Charmion. Well done to all of you (and a big moist eyed greeting and hug from here.) The uniforms on the holiday is particularly poignant.

Oldest child has returned from abroad; I suspect she is still sleeping off that trip. Good thing tomorrow is a federal holiday, she has an extra day to settle back into the routine.

The okra plants are looking exponentially bad each day. Yesterday was rough, today they are wretched, brown leaves and stems toppling off of the tall plants, each with a 2-3" diameter ankle-high that was a hedge all summer but now resembles a torn and broken umbrella. They're racing to put out fresh pods at the very top so today's haul was particularly robust.

Rain is in the forecast, but not trusting it to happen I watered several zones of the front yard yesterday. I'm getting ready to start digging and doing more transplanting out there.
