Thread Name: Les Chansons de la France

There are also about 17 versions of a song about a pond, and 3 ducks, and the king's son aims for the black one but kills the white (ô fils du roi tu es méchant, tu as tué mon canard blanc), and the feathers fly everywhere, and ladies come and gather them, and make featherbeds for to wecome passers-by... All are in that form where you can either sing each line once, or each verse can start by repeating the ladt line of the prior verse so it takes twice as long to sing.

En passant par la Lorraine avec mes sabots is like that. So is A la claire fontaine.

I think those work because all the rhymes are the same (étang, canard blanc, tous les passants / vilaine, marjolaine, reine / promener, baigné, refusé)...?
