I was just thinking about Old Betsy From Pike (who crossed the great desert with her lover Ike) and remembered that they ended up in
"Hangtown" which i sanother name for Placerville, CA.

Apparently, they were in a party of travellers from Pike County Missouri

There is a Fire Lookout in Yuba County, CA called Pike County,
which was always a mystery to me, as there is no Pike County in CA.
