I typically have two glasses in an evening, one with dinner and one after, so the bottle lasts for two meals, sometimes three. But I don't have it every day now, not for quite a while. And I've been looking at the statistics for how to avoid or slow down osteoporosis, and two factors that are under my control are to not start smoking (no risk there) and to have less alcohol. That, along with doing more weight-bearing exercises and walking.

There are so many big projects needing doing around here that I feel at a standstill - nothing will be finished soon and all need a lot of attention. Dorothy's lack of inclination, illustrated - a tour to write out, sewing to do, a bunch of slides of my own to scan, eBay items to list (to clear out what I bought and also things I inherited), and a music collection to start processing. Lately nothing seemed to be getting done, so after my afternoon powernap I resolved to pick up around the house, that should help my mood. The dogs have been particularly active at chewing up sticks in the house this week, so sweeping alone will make things look much better.

The pressure cooker worked well this evening for whole beets, and I've baked an acorn squash. I'm trying to keep more bright-colored vegetables in my diet, so having them ready in the fridge ready to reheat makes them more likely to get eaten. This is one of the "small steps" suggested by the motivational parts of the exercise program I'm doing now (15 minutes of targeted exercises a day).
