I'm glad I was able to sing this at the recent Mudcat "singaround." I sing all the verses but I sing the third verse ("I'll think of him never...") last and I change "the frail wildwood flower" to "his frail wildwood flower" to correspond with "he called me his flower" of the previous verse, and because I think it's more emotionally effective that way ("this frail wildwood flower" would also work; either is better, I think, than "the").
