Julia A Moore, the "Sweet Singer of Michigan" wrote a song about the Ashtabula train disaster using the melody of "Gently Down the Stream of Time." She wrote it lamenting the death of Phillip Bliss a popular hymn writer who perished with his wife in the crash.
