These lyrics are NOT in Occitan, whether old or modern, in any variety of it from any of the Occitan speaking area, be it in France, Italy or Spain. Most of the song is modern French with a few Old French words ("estraine", "demaine", this "preut" thing), some old spellings ("i" instead of "y", "sai" instead of "sais", "envoi" instead of "envoie"), some turns of phrase used in poetry ("Trois fleurs d'amour i trouvai" instead of "J'y trouvai trois fleurs d'amour") and omission of the subject pronoun.
