I propose a third way.
The smorgasbord path of past and future allowing a peaceful choice
between fate and past, as long as we relegate our past for learning purposes only. If we fail in our vigilence of past worship OR become irrespondsible with innovation we may someday find what defines us as a species could one day spell our doom.
