Well I agree with him.

As for dying of old age, I'd known my mum's multifarious conditions for donkeys' years, had taken her to countless hospital appointments and helped her to manage the seven or eight different medications she was taking. Two conditions were mentioned on the death certificate, but any of several others could easily have been. The busy doctor who signed it had hardly known my mum at all. Had he written "old age" on the certificate I'd have been OK with that (do they ever write that?). It's only words, and they're fairly gentle ones.
