Hermes Nye's Ballads of the Civil War (Folkways Records FP 5004) has a nice recording of the song, which can be heard online on Spotity, YouTube Music, and perhaps a few other places.

His liner notes also explain in more detail than I could the history of the song. The are available here, see PDF pages 20-21 (actual pages 18-19) of the accompanying booklet. The lyrics are substantively the same as the ones posted by masato sakurai back in '02
