Bill D, I doubt whether a couple of novels out of a total of almost 30 written by Nevil Shute would qualify him to be entered on a list of speculative fiction writers, so personally I wouldn't count him in that list either. My point was that some mainstream authors sometimes stray into the speculative genre.
