Hi all
There are a number of different music festivals and other festivals that happen in Scarborough - in fact it's festival city with one almost every month, from jazz and blues to beards and Sci-Fi.
The Eliza Carthy performance was part of 'Big Ideas by the Sea' - a new festival which has been running for two years. It's not a folk festival but Eliza and Martin were also involved in last years programme so I'm hoping there might be another performance next year.... other musical performances this year were from 5 Star Brass and the Fyllingthorpe folk choir.
Scarborough Sea Fest usually takes place in July but hasn't happened for the last two years. That includes music performances and food on the pier, plus in 2019 there was a fringe stage on the good ship Marie which focussed on folk music.
Whitby is of course also well served with the annual Whitby folk Festival and the Great North Festival on the North York moors at Botton Village.
And there's Filey Folk Festival which is the May Bank Holiday weekend.
Hope this helps
Bridget
