It's a vital (literally: it affects people's lives) issue for many people, mostly women, but sometimes men.

Yes this is a defamation case. No, she never reported to police or authorities any alleged domestic violence during her marriage. No she doesn't have any concrete evidence that the domestic violence was inflicted on her. After the fact she decided to talk about her allegations in a newspaper. It may or may not have happened as she alleged. She may have perpetrated some of the violence or bad behaviour on him. Who knows the truth? Neither of them reported the alleged incidents at the time.

It doesn't take away from the vital importance of taking domestic violence and bullying and coercive control seriously.
