When I went to Edinburgh in 1987 the song I was encouraed to learn it after hearing the Scottish Fiddle Orchestra version on vinyl, the medley included Loch Lomond, The Song Of Aberdeen, and Westering Home. I listened to this all the time when i was just a child at the home. My bandmate sung all the Scots songs very well and I accompanied on accordion.
