Take a look at the comments under any recording from the '60s or '70s on youtube, and you'll see any number of pronouncements to the effect of, "Now that's real music! Not like that noise the kids are listening to nowadays!" How a guy (and it's always guys) can say something like that without hearing his father, a grouchy teacher, or some random opinionated middle-aged stranger from his youth, I don't know ... even if I agree with sentiment ... !
