(3) I once told Patrick Kavanagh - the wondrous poet who wrote the qunintessential love song "The Dawning Of The Day" - that in my considered opinion he was a grumpy old bastard who knew f..k all and that he should take himself back to the obscurity of Co. Monaghan where he belonged.
