Very sad news indeed. Being American I didn't discover this amazing artist til they invented You-tube. The first time I heard "Took the Children Away" I was thinking what a poignant song about the stolen generation, When he switched to first person singular in the third verse and I realized he was now singing about his own life, it hit me like a brick.
