The "Texas legislature" isn't who's "banning" these books (yet).

When a state legislature *bans* a book, it's permanently removed from all library shelves. Selling or possessing a copy also becomes a crime.

Nothing like that has happened, not even in Texas.

We're talking about local school districts where certain *parents* have objected to books, and school librarians have had to remove the books pending review by the school board - which is made up of parents and school administartors.

Whatever may ultimately happen to some of the books on the list, *all* the titles are still available either in other libraries or through bookstores.

Not the same thing as being "banned in Texas" by the state government, which, I assume, would be a legislative violation of the First Amendment.
